Misty B. Smith, CLU, ChFC
Born in Raleigh, NC, Misty attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and a Bachelor’tyBios of Art in Environmental Science. Misty returned to Raleigh after graduation for employment at Hunter Biosciences, Inc. (later to become Environmental Sciences and Engineering, Inc.). During her five years at ESE, Inc., she worked as a Project Manager for Bioremediation projects. Misty found her career at ESE, Inc. fascinating and enjoyable but moved to join an emerging field - long-term care insurance.
When Misty began working in the long-term care market in 1995, most individuals were unaware of both the availability and the need for long-term care insurance. Initially, Misty was trained at a large, national insurance carrier. Later she moved to become an independent long-term care advocate. She formed Southeastern Senior Strategies, LLC in 2000 to market long-term care, disability and lift insurance to individuals, large-groups and Associations across North Carolina. Misty has seen the long-term care market develop and change over her years in this industry. She is committed to this market and plans to remain in North Carolina, home of her ancestors since early 18th Century. She enjoys traveling across this great state as she calls on those interested in long-term care insurance.
Misty and her husband Bryan raised their family in Garner but as empty nesters have enjoyed spending time at the beach. Bryan and Misty stay busy with work, their new passion of golf, and traveling.
